Every time I get frustrated with my work and wonder how on earth I'm going to do -anything- with what I'm looking at, you always post something up that makes me take a second look and go, "Ohhhhh...THAT is what you're aiming to get to and so THAT'S how you work that particular problem out..."
These are -beautiful-. Is it the ballerina model you mentioned some time back? The one with the hat has just that sort of easy grace, and the other one is holding a pose that would make most people whimper after a very -short- while --painful knees! They have such lovely body lines.
-Thanks Shuku, the ballerina just showed up once, time ago. These are in fact other models. I can't remember now who 'the one on her knees' was, but the other one was also great. When we went in and Marcelo saw her he said (and I totally agreed) that she could be a great reference for Ms. Trouble herself.
The drawings are beautiful. i love how u simplify the arms, it's very graceful. :) i went to your website, and i have to admit, i took a screenshot of every page! ^0^ (i hope u don't mind...?) They are just so stunning! the grouping of light and dark just gorgeous! do u do perliminary drawings and tonal studies before you paint? it looks so fast and effortless.
-Thanks Shelly, and I feel honored you took the screenshots! I have to say I never do preliminary sketches as such, or tonal studies. In many "production illustration" cases ('the reading guy', 'U-Boot', 'transatlantic at port', etc...) I don't draw at all, I just paint directly and keep adding canvas as I need (advantages of digital technology!).
-Thanks a lot Ale. That sketch was an early idea for the comic story girl, as you see the 'thing' had been in my head for a while before I started
