Ah waddaheck!

Enough 'comic book nostalgia' type thing for now!
Here is an oil painting I did ten days ago. Out we went: Noelle, Tang, Christian, Katrin (did I spell everyone right?) and myself to the beach with our oil painting tools.
I know it's not what you guys have in mind for a beach, but I swear the water thing with sand and all that was right behind me.
I just didn't happen to have a proper wide landscape canvas on me, and the way things were I didn't feel like painting the beach in this more regular format. So, here is a building.

Marcos,
Looks great! If you did this 10 years ago I would love to see how you are painting now!!
Nice work.

Ten DAYS ago!

It's actually my first oil painting in more than a year, and my second one in about twenty five - thirty years.
Thank you for the visit!

Second one in about 25-30 years?

Not worthy! Not worthy!

Seriously though, Marcos - this is LOVELY. I really love the colours. It's warm like a Miss Trouble California sunset with the sort of shades I used to associate with orange-fire skies and pumpkin-coloured sand with the sun just hanging there, not wanting to go down. (Yeah, I was a sea-girl when I lived in Virginia...)

More! More!

-Thanks Shuku. I'll say the colors of the original painting are pretty close to this although the quality of the picture... take into acount it was taken directly under a lamp's lightbulb, that tells you.

Gracias.

-Philip, I don't have a clue of what you are saying!
Thanks for the 'nice work' part though!

It looks a bit like how I imagine Mallorca. Far from the gray day I remember, but ever so cool. I especially like the graphic quality and the bold broad brush strokes. I hope you'll join us again soon.

It actually looks like part of the promenade by the sea in Palma, right past the cathedral going west.
I really had this in mind while I was painting it, I was amazed by the similarity.
There are plenty of things in Southern California that remind me of Mallorca actually.
Thanks for the comment and I do hope to join you guys soon again!
